Kitimat City Council meets tonight for their Regular Meeting of Council, Monday, March 18th in the City Council Chambers in the Public Safety Building at 7:30 Pm.

The Meeting begins with a Public Hearing to amend the Official Community Plan. Following that, the meeting begins with Staff Sergeant Phil Harrison and the Monthly Policing Report, and Luella Froess with a presentation on Camps.

After approving minutes, Councillor Mary Murphy is making a motion concerning a Conflict of Interest Commissioner and Councillor Phil Germuth is making a motion to hold a public town hall meeting about Camps.

Under Bylaws, there is the approval of the amendment to the OCP which required a public hearing earlier in the meeting.

There is a letter to Council from Barbara Campbell and Foess concerning the request for a town hall meeting regarding camps.

There are 6 reports. The first concerns a request to wave field user fees for the Woman’s Soccer League. The Second is a request for funding for the 9th Annual Kitimat/Kitamaat Basketball Tournament. Following that is an Emergency Funding Request from Kitimat Understanding the Environment.

The next item is the 2013/2014 Leisure Services Department Fee Scheduling. There is a report on last meetings media inquiry and finally, the statement of accounts for January.
