REPORTING · 5th March 2013
Walter McFarlane
Three players for the BC Lions, Offensive Lineman Angus Reid, Courtney Taylor and Defensive Lineman Jabar Westerman were in Kitimat as a part of Lions in the House. They presented to Mount Elizabeth students in the morning of Wednesday, March 27th.

“’Lions in the House,’ is to promote positive choices, which BC Lions players deliver speeches on their experiences making choices in their life, specifically in the fields of education and safety,” said Bob Foerster.

Each of the Lions gave a short speech concerning life choices and the students got to participate in short drills including push ups, crunches, tug of war and a relay race with the Lions.

The visit also coincided with Pink Shirt day. “We did know it was anti-bullying day and that we were going to be in Kitimat for the day, but it was just a coincidence,” said Foester.
