Mayor Joanne Monaghan began the Regular Meeting of Council for February 18th with her customary good news.

“The past two weeks, we’ve had two cabinet ministers, the Honourable Ida Chong and Honourable Bill Bennett join us for a visit and to talk about the future of Kitimat, especially the LNG Projects which your Council and get their input as to what they would like and guide along as they see what other issues were about,” said Monaghan.

She explained the unsightly premises task force met and they hope to have some good news for the community regarding demolition.

The BC LNG group were in Kitimat with 11 of their clients from China. Monaghan expressed all the meetings were informative and congenial.

She stated she was honoured to hand out awards at the Regional Skating Championships on Saturday afternoon, February 16th.

“PTI will be holding an open house on February 28th at the Rod and Gun and everyone is invited. They will take your concerns and your questions,” concluded Monaghan.
