While the Rail Jam was taking place outside the mall, on Friday January 25th, Family Literacy Day was going on within the Kitimat City Centre Mall with a Multicultural Reading.
“[We’re] trying to show the diverse and amazing different cultures that have come together in Kitimat,” said Elizabeth MacDonald. “I’m really thrilled that the community comes out and supports these types of things. It’s really important that you read with your kids.”
There were many different languages of the world showcased, including German, French, Portuguese, Africans, Ebu, Finish, Arabic and English. Participants received a free book from Literacy Kitimat and the Community Corner.
