REPORTING · 23rd January 2013
Mayor Joanne Monaghan began the Regular Meeting of Council for Monday, January 21st with her traditional good news.
Her first bit of good news related to the Peace Trailers Industries last week. She said it was good to see so many people from the public attending. She added PTI is a housing complex for workers and they are looking to put 2100 units in Kitimat, the buildings will be three stories high and two hundred people will work there.
“BC LNG, that’s the group that set up on barges down the channel, they signed contracts to Asian Sales and the company is concentrating on initial shipments of 700,000 tonnes a year. It’s enough to load one LNG tanker a month,” said Monaghan.
She expressed there was activity going on in the mall but she will report on that at a later date.
