REPORTING · 21st January 2013
Walter McFarlane
Kitimat City Council meets tonight, Monday, January 21st for their regular meeting of Council in the Council Chambers at the public Safety Building. The meeting begins tonight at 7:30.

The meeting begins with a public hearing concerning a Bylaw regulating the use of Accessory Structures.

Following the hearing, presentations begins with the Monthly Policing Report from Staff Sergeant Phil Harrison. Frank Mauro is addressing Council about the Grant to the Ski Hill and the Airport Taxi Service. Finally, the Kitimat Marine Rescue Society is putting forward a request for a grant of $25,000 to help cover the cost of a new rescue boat.

After approving minutes, a motion returns to Council concerning the meeting locations. As we reported last week, the motion to move Council to the College was made and amended to clarify which room they were using and which wall they were knocking out. However, the motion was never called or carried.

Under bylaws comes the third reading of the Accessory Structure Bylaw.

There are three reports. The First concerns the Kitimat Marine Rescue Presentation from earlier in the meeting. The Second is for a Development Permit for Kuldo Boulevard Apartments. The final report concerns plans for Kitimat’s 60th Anniversary.

There are no communications.
