REPORTING · 29th December 2012
Tim Horton’s opened in Kitimat today, Saturday, December 29th. After several long months of construction and waiting, the word is out. The place was busy and the noon hour line up for coffee and donuts was long.
Store Owner/Operator, Devin Archibald express he is excited to be in Kitimat. They have close to 50 employees and some steady business for their first day.
Mayor Joanne Monaghan was present to get her noon hour cup of coffee. Last year, Council wrote a letter to Tim Horton’s to invite them to set up shop in Kitimat. She expressed she was elated to have them open in town.
We asked her what the next thing Council was going to bring into town. “We’re hoping there are going to be at least two more retailers coming in. That’s what we’re working with now in the mall and that will be announced in the next month or two,” said Monaghan.
She also expressed they will be looking into a wharf.

Tim Horton's is open - what two weeks? - and have you noticed the number of Timmy's take-out cups lying abandoned around the community already?
Come on folks! Put your garbage in the garbage can or take it home. Don't drop it out the car window or along the sidewalk. It is disgusting!
