Kitimat City Council Meets tonight for their Regular Meeting of Council at 7:30 Pm at the Public Safety Building.

The meeting begins with Staff Sergeant Steve Corp and the Monthly Policing Report. He’s followed up by Cheryl Rumley representing Tamitik Status of Women talking about Sexualized Violence Awareness. Danielle Gentile, the Program Coordinator for Kitimat Making a Difference for Children presents next.

Leon Dumstrey-Soos is going to shake things up by talking about last month’s earthquake. Finally, Jessica Goncalves and Liliana Carvelho are going to present on the 2013 Caribou North Central Regional Championships.

There are two motions scheduled to go before Council. One is Councillor Phil Germuth’s motion concerning BC Hydro Projects in Northwest BC. The other is a motion from Councillor Mary Murphy about going for an Age Friendly Community Grant.

There are three bylaws which are coming before Council. All three have come before Council in the past. There is Final Adoption scheduled for both the 2013 Revenue Anticipation Borrowing Bylaw and the District of Kitimat Council Remuneration. 3rd Reading and Final Adoption is scheduled for the bylaw for using shipping containers as accessory buildings and structures.

Under reports is a report about the Snow Valley Skating Club. There is a request to do a budget transfer for Bay Door Replacement. There is also a request for a letter of comfort to help get the Hirsch Creek Golf and Winter Club out of Financial Trouble. Finally a report on the Duck Creek Bridge could be going before Council.
