The Citywest office in Kitimat held their grand opening on Tuesday, September 18th with a Barbecue in front of their new office. Hamburgers and hot dogs were served while members of the public met the workers.
“Kitimat is a really important market for us. We now operate three full service offices in the region, Prince Rupert, Terrace and now Kitimat. It’s part of our strategy to locate our customer service in the communities, close to the costumers so we could be responses and adapt to the unique needs of each of the communities and adapt to the customers in the communities,” said Chad Cunningham, the Marketing and Sales Director.
He expressed there has been a lot of business in Kitimat for the services provided by Citywest. It is difficult to sell these items over the telephone. With the new office, customers can come in and try out digital cable and look at their options.
In the front of the office is the Customer Service area and demonstrations of the services which are offered by Citywest. In the back are offices for their technicians and equipment for running the local services.
Cunningham explained they have three local channels in Kitimat, Channel 10, Channel 736 and 737. Channel 10 is designed to be a community channel and Cunningham hopes there will be more live broadcasts and local events. On Channel 736, they are implementing a highway Drive BC camera so people can see the local weather conditions on the highway. Channel 737 will be broadcasting airport information.
