The Northern Expedition, a ferry traveling from Prince Rupert to Port Hardy was forced to make a stop in Kitimat for a medical emergency on Wednesday, August 29th around 1:30 in the afternoon.

“A doctor on board determined a female crewmember was suffering from a life threatening medical emergency and required medical treatment as soon as possible,” said Deborah Marshall, Executive Director of Public Affairs.

The Northern Expedition did not dock in Kitimat. The boat launched a rescue boat to get the patient to shore. The ship arrived in Port Hardy four hours behind schedule and sailed on time on August 30th, 7:30 Am.
