District of Kitimat
The following article has been reposted three times so all of the winners and runners up could be recognized. The photos are posted in the order they were taken.
The 2012 Kitimat Business Recognition Program judging is complete and the Kitimat Advisory Planning Commission extends congratulations to all of this yearís award recipients. The Commission took note of neat, tidy premises. New buildings and new landscaping also caught the Commissionís collective eye at many of the locations this year.
Seventeen businesses were recognized for their efforts. Lapointe Engineering and Project Management Ltd was awarded First Place ĎOverallí, with seven other businesses receiving Honourable Mention in this category. No single business, but the entire west side of the 400-Block on Enterprise Avenue was awarded First Place in the ĎMost Improvedí cat egory. A complete list of the winning business is provided on the reverse. Through the effort of each merchant, Kitimatís commercial areas will be an attractive place to work and shop.
The Advisory Planning Commission launched the Recognition Program in 1999 to acknowledge businesses that are a positive example for light industrial development in Service Centre. The expanded Recognition Program gives the Commission the opportunity to recognize the efforts of new and established members of the Kitimat business community in all commercial areas. It is hoped that the high standards set by this yearís honourees will encourage other merchants and land owners to follow suit.
