Kitimat City Council Meets tonight, Tuesday the 4th for their first Regular Meeting in September. There is a full agenda including 1 presentation, 2 motions, 3 bylaws, 8 reports and a communication.

Presenting to Council is Kristine Kofoed, the Community Development and Campaign Coordinator for United Way.

Councillor Phil Germuth brings forward two motions. The First concerns putting a play area for children in Cablecar. The Second is a request for Rio Tinto Alcan to donate land to the District.

Under By-Laws are the Rural Resort Zoning Bylaw, a Bylaw for using shipping containers as buildings and structures and a bylaw for zoning Strawberry Meadows.

Under reports are development permits for the Source and Suede Boutique and Hair Studio and three Temporary Commercial/Industrial Use Permits Applications and Renewals. There is also the statement of accounts for August.

In addition, there are requests for a budget transfer to the Smith Street Playground fund from the Wading Pool Removal Budget. There is also a report for Watchmen Accommodation in M2A Zone.

Finally, under communications, there is a letter to request support of a waste water management motion from Mylene Freeman.
