It was a very small turnout for such a large metropolis yet the commitment was huge. An assembly of speakers and First Nations representatives took turns at the microphone to assist the crowd in understanding the threat to all of the environment and habitat in the Coastal waters of BC. Others spoke about the endangered lives and lost lives due to the degradation of the rivers and lands in and around the Athabasca region of Alberta.
The entertainment was complete with bands and performances of all types including a separate stage just for a hip-hop crowd.
Held in North Vancouver on Squamish Nation territory at Water Front Park (next to the Lonsdale Quay and Seabus terminal) many Vancouverites stumbled across the gathering and entertainment.
As the sun set on the beautiful clear sky day the music continued and the spirit of the struggle to save the clean land, air and waters of Beautiful British Columbia continued.
