It is the first week of The 2012 Kitimat Museum and Archives Summer of Adventure Program, a series of fun and educational programs for local youth.
“We’re doing our Summer of Adventure Programming. We’re doing a solid seven weeks of day programs so the kids can come and learn about a particular topic and engage in activities and learn something new,” said Alex Eastman.
They have added a new week of programming. Favourites have returned from the past, including making a volcano, tie-dye T-Shirts and some new programs about space, science and art.
There are four staff members this year working to provide supervision and create interactive, educative experiences for the kids. Sign up is done day by day for programs so the kids could sign up for programs which interest them.
