Due to the long weekend, Kitimat City Council will meet on Tuesday, May 22nd at 7:30 PM. There are five presentations scheduled and this will not be one to miss.

The evening starts off with Staff Sergeant Steve Corp’s monthly policing report. Trish Parsons comes next to give council the Annual Report from the Chamber of Commerce. The third report is a presentation on the Gaming Grant Applications from the Snow Valley Skating Club.

Rick Belmont, the President of CAW 2301 is up to present next about the New Smelter and CAW Membership. Michelle Perret, the Senior Manager of Municipal Relations at Enbridge wishes to update Council on the JRP Process and Project Benefits.

There are two motions on the Agenda. The first comes from Councillor Phil Germuth and it is to inquire about the leak detection system for the Enbridge. The second motion is to appoint Tim Carter to the Advisory Planning Commission.

Under Bylaws is the Final Adoption of the changes to Recreation Department which revises it to the Leisure Services Department.

There are two reports which include the ever popular statement of accounts. The other is a grant request for a garden project at Horizon House. Finally, under communications is a request for a letter of support from the Snow Valley Skating Club.
