WATCH LIVE AT THE BLOCKADE BY CLICKING HERE

Today, at Smithers, the Judge hearing the matters between the GTS (Gitxsan Treaty Society) and the Gitxsan Chiefs who fired the staff of the GTS, adjourned the hearing and ordered those blockading the GTS offices be arrested.

The Gitxsan Unity Movement has put out a request for support.

They are assembling all the High Chiefs with their regalia in Old Hazelton, in front of the presently boarded up GTS offices near the Village Municipal offices.

All First nations people who respect and stand up for the foundation of the Delgamuukw ruling, the authority of the hereditary culture, are requested to attend immediately in a show of support.
EXACTLY WHO IS THE CONFRONTIST
Comment by LINDA HALYK on 15th May 2012
I do not understand how reporting a request by a group could start a confrontation. Is what is happening now not already a confrontation. The Gitxsan are not being confrontational it is the justice system.

This paper is the only open and honest connection some people have to what is happening in the north.

If for example if RTA locked out the Union workers in Kitimat, I would hope it was reported if the Union Workers asked for a show of support from the community and other union workers.
