Jobfest, under the heading of “Rock Your Future” will be taking place today May 2nd at the Riverlodge Parking lot from 2:00 in the afternoon to 8:00 in the evening. The following information comes from a press release on the District of Kitimat Website.

JobFest is an interactive and engaging event experience tying together the excitement of a rock concert with information on building and finding a career. Visitors will be invited into the experience to engage with event presenters, career tools and other interactive games. There will be a variety of on-stage entertainment to enjoy and JobFest prize giveaways. Throughout the day local speakers will share stories and provide inspiration.

In addition, both headline and local talent unique to each community will be invited to provide onstage entertainment. To see what's up, come to Riverlodge, May 2nd, between 2pm and 8pm.

A fun day of career exploration

Celebrate all of the amazing career opportunities for young people in BC. Created through the provincial Ministry of Jobs, Tourism and Innovation, the goal of JobFest is to engage with and excite youth while delivering labour market information and showcasing six career exploration tools developed by the ministry.

The tour will make 50 stops in northern and southern BC from spring to fall 2012. JobFest will be at Riverlodge in Kitimat on May 2nd. Visitors will be introduced to career options through face-to-face discussions with event presenters, guest speakers, the career tools, interactive games, and other career-related information. Live rock bands and performers, both local and headliner acts, will provide entertainment on stage throughout the day. Visitors will also receive JobFest giveaways, such as t-shirts, DVDs, and JobFest-related gear as souvenirs of this fun and unique event.
