The weekend of April 21st, 22nd and 23rd, ten Kitimat Dancers placed second in the Pacific Northwest Music Festival in Terrace.
“Ten girls from Dance Kitimat participated in the Pacific Northwest Music Festival in Terrace,” said Anna Marie Carstens. “They danced beautifully and placed second in their contemporary dance category. The piece was choreographed by guest choreographer Delphine Leroux to the composition "le Moulin" by Yann Tiersen.”
Leroux visited Kitimat three times last year to teach the dance to the girls. Afterwards, they practiced the dance on their own.
If you missed seeing it, there is another opportunity coming up. “The girls will perform the piece once again at Dance Kitimat's year-end recital "J'aime la Danse" on Sunday, May 6th at 2.00 pm at the Mount Elizabeth Theatre,” said Carstens.
