Kitimat City Council began with Mayor Joanne Monaghan’s Good News on Monday, March 19th.
Monaghan thanked the organizers of the Coy Cup for doing a good job.
“The real estate market is certainly on a roll, commercial properties are changing hands quickly and new signs are appearing,” said Monaghan. “We have been assured Fields is not leaving us, but we will wait and see what appears there.”
“The housing real estate market sold 48 houses, January, February, compared to 14 last year,” said Monaghan.
She moved onto Tim Horton’s where she heard real estate approval has been given and the community can look forward to an announcement next week.
City Council will be entertaining a delegation interested in building a wharf in Kitimat.
Finally, she said Tuesday, March 20th would be the first official day of spring.
