The Shelly Jackson Memorial Project is really getting moving. In the month of December alone, they moved 10,000 pounds of food.
“The food share is going incredibly well,” said Liz MacDonald.
The project is busy collecting, sorting and delivering food. Between 35 and 83 people a day are collecting the food and they have all been identified as low income families.
They are delivering dairy products to Nechako and Kildala Elementary Schools daily. A Mount Elizabeth program begins on February Second. They are also working with the Haisla Community School.
“Both Supervalu and Overwaitea have been very generous in what they are giving us,” said MacDonald.
