The Library board and staff got together with MLA Robin Austin on Wednesday, December 21st to say a special thank you to two of the libraries supporters.

The first person recognized is Patricia Lovegren who is stepping down from the Library Board after 8 years of service. “If we had more members who were as dedicated as you are, I think that our library would be a really, really awesome place to be,” said Library Board Chair Linda Campbell.

She received a declaration and copy of the library book, a coffee table book about the history of library services in BC.

Austin was asked to support the library by being a voice for the libraries in this region down in the legislature. Campbell said they had to lose employees and close on Sundays after a recent budget. He received a copy of The Library Book as well.

Virginia Charron, the Library Director also received recognition, as she has been serving the community for 10 years as director.

“If we did not have Virginia in this position, I don’t believe we would be where we are right now with our library or with any of the things which are happening,” said Campbell.

Charron was presented with a certificate as well.
