The Kitimat City Council Meeting on Monday, December 19th began with the usual good news report from Mayor Joanne Monaghan.
“The first good news tonight is that Council has had there first few meetings as a new group and it has been a pleasure to work with them. Thank you all for working together, I appreciate it,” said Monaghan.
She moved onto Pytrade, referring to it as ‘the company that was never going to happen’ and a Christmas Gift to Kitimat. Pytrade is building a 7.5 million dollar Pyrolysis plant. She read the press release found here
She added they have a model a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer. She explained Council will be meeting with Pytrade In Camera later that night.
Monaghan changed topics to a meeting they had with the 'Guru of Municipalities,' George Cuff.
“We were able to ask questions and become very informed on many aspects of Council meetings and so forth,” said Monaghan.
