At the City Council meeting on December 3rd, Council held the elections for Directors to the Regional District Board. Councillor Mario Feldhoff nominated Councillor Corrine Scott and Councillor Mary Murphy nominated Councillor Phil Germuth.
Germuth expressed the Regional District was important as there were problems in the marina which needed to be looked at. He was aware of these issues, and other issues. He attended Regional District meetings to see how they are run.
Scott expressed good working relationships in our region with the other municipalities were needed. She wished to represent Kitimat respectfully as these were their issues to take to the Regional District. She has experience working as a manager of rural municipalities and is familiar with rural issues. She also worked closely with the Peace Regional District. She felt confident she can take Kitimat issues to the Regional District.
Scott was elected as Director to the Regional District. Mayor Joanne Monaghan, was selected as the alternate, by acclamation.
