RE: Kitimat Detachment - RCMP - Monthly Policing Report - OCT. 2011

The following information is provided to yourself and Council, to update you on the 2011 crime statistic totals for Kitimat; as well as new developments within the Detachment.

Detachment News:

Halloween was very quiet this year with only one file relating to Halloween festivities, that being a
fireworks related complaint.

Cst. FOREMAN attended the Explosive Disposal Unit Bomb Awareness Course in Vancouver,
B.C.

POLICE.BASED VICTIM SERVICES:

Victim Services was very busy this month. They had 16 new clients bringing their total clients to
234. They attended court on 2 days in Kitimat to gather updates and to offer court support and orientation for clients.

COMMUNITY POLICING/CRIME PREVENTION INITIATIVES:

Sgt. SUMNER and his spouse represented the Kitimat Detachment at the Luso Canadian 50th Anniversary celebration dinner.

PRISONER STATISTICS:
25 prisoners were held in the month of October 2011. 180 guarding hours were billed to the
Municipality and the Province picked up 231 billable hours.
