Margaret Sanou asked if the Mayor should just run the chair the meetings or debate.

Joanne Monaghan said a Mayor should not debate all the time but they should debate if the Mayor has information which a Councillor does not know. However the Mayor should run the meeting.

Randy Halyk said the Mayor is a part of Council and not above Council. The mayor should be a part of the discussion.

Jim Thom said the Mayor should only drop in if a debate needs any finishing parts to the debate. The six Councillors will put good points into the debate and the Mayor should keep this debate going.
