The fourth candidate to introduce herself was Incumbent, Corrine Scott.

“As a candidate for Councillor, I’m offering you a positive choice bringing over 30 years of local government experience to the table. My specialty has been assisting municipalities with change. I offer a sensible approach to resolving issues and working cooperatively with others. I get things accomplished,” said Scott.

She established the Kitimat Hospital Foundation, re-commissioned the Advisory Commission for Persons with Disabilities and promoted Kitimat as a Tourism Destination.

“I have promoted Kitimat as a great place to live for both young people, and retirees,” said Scott. “I listen to con citizens, recently advocating for revisions to the snow removal bylaw, it is currently being revised.”

She has promoted safety. She promoted the need for another arena. She has even promoted for more communication between the community and the District using the paper.

Working as a team, Council brought forward issues facing Kitimat to the Premier at UBCM, under the guidance of Scott as the acting Mayor.
