REPORTING · 5th November 2011
Walter McFarlane
The first candidate for Councillor to speak was Incumbent Rob Goffinet. He said it was impossible to describe himself in 2 minutes, but he could tell people who he tried to be.

“You may know me as a parent or a teacher to your kids, a neighbour or an active citizen in groups, committees or organizations stretching from politics to health to church. The last three years, you might know me as a sitting municipal Councillor, either on TV every week or in the press or hopefully face to face because I got to talk to you,” said Goffinet.

Goffinet expressed he tried to be positive, even on issues he disagrees with. He speaks clearly and he is a hard worker. He ponders the decision he makes and focuses on issues rather then personality.

“I always ask questions because I know I don’t have all the answers,” said Goffinet.

He expressed he treats his Council members as team members before running out of time.
