During the Telethon, on October 16th, an individual who has both benefited from the Telethon, who was assisting the Telethon back stage, was brought on stage to be introduced Brad Hildebrandt, who received support from the Child Development Centre.

Gareen Ball, who was co-hosting at this time, told the story about how she had visited the Hildebrandt Household to do an insert for the Telethon at the time.

“Here is proof of what this is all about. What your dollars have done. How you have supported this community over the years,” said Ball.

Hildebrandt the kindness of the staff made the Child Development Centre a warm place to go. “The staff and everyone was able to help me and I know it would not be possible without each Telethon. I have to thank you for all your support over these many years because I’m going to go to UNBC,” said Hildebrandt. “If it wasn’t for this Telethon and the support I received from the CDC, I’m sure I wouldn’t be the person I am today.”

Ball expressed Hildebrandt, Brad had been helping out in the accounting room all morning entering the data. He is studying to be an accountant.

“It’s wonderful to see the successes of what the services in our community do to keep all of us healthy and live vibrantly in the community,” said Margaret Warcup, who joined the two of them on stage.

They were unable to find the old insert in time to prepare it for the Telethon.
