The Snowflake Seniors Centre celebrated their Thirtieth Anniversary on October 8th. The club opened on April 28th, 1981.
“It was a wonderful party, we had about 108 people in here and lots of dignitaries like Mayor Joanne Monaghan and quite a few aldermans were here. It was a great… great party. Everybody had a great time,” said Tilly Bachman.
The celebration was a tea luncheon. Sandwiches were provided by Doris’s Delicatessen and there was a cake. Entertainment included belly dancers, singers and a song about Kitimat’s rainy weather.
A plaque was presented to the Society commemorating their thirty years.
