Kitimat Museum and Archives
A photographic exhibition from the Scandinavian Cultural Society of Burnaby
October 12, 2011 to January 7, 2012
Restored historical and modern images illustrate how Finns, working from BC’s earliest days, have built not only their own rich life, but the new province itself. Photos and text show fishing, logging, building, and socializing in several noted Finnish settlements: Clinton Hall, Vancouver, Finn’s Slough on the Fraser River; the utopian society of Sointula; Webster’s Corner. The exhibition was prepared by the Finnish Heritage Society with support from the Finnish community.
To compliment this photographic display the Finnish-Canadian Club of Kitimat will exhibit items and photographs documenting their heritage and life in Canada.
Monday to Friday 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
Saturday 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm
