The 24th Annual Fish Derby took place this past weekend. 444 people entered the competition and many fish were caught, weighed, but overall rejected.

There was quite a turn out at the Chamber of Commerce for the wrap up. Kids had a blast Tricycling around the sidewalks, casting lines in the casting contest, and having their faces painted.

Music played through the afternoon from DJ Brent and 144 prizes from around the community were drawn for.

At 7:00, the prizes were drawn and numerous names were called for who were not present and the prizes were redrawn. Mayor Joanne Monaghan and MLA Robin Austin were on hand to give out the prizes.

“I want to thank the Chamber for a wonderful fish derby again. Thank you very much for all your work and for all your volunteers who have helped,” said Monaghan.
