The Kitimat General Hospital was full of sick teddy bears and their loved ones as parents brought their children down to the Teddy Bear Clinic on Saturday, June 25th.
“So today we’re holding a teddy bear clinic at Kitimat General Hospital. Teddy Bear Clinic is an established practice to break down fear of visiting the hospital or healthcare professionals by children. So it’s a fun educational event, gives health promotion and teaches kids what to expect when they come to visit the doctor or the nurse, the dentists and all kinds of health care professional,” Said Jonathon Cooper.
The event also brought out the RCMP and Ambulance Service to provide education for kids as well. Cooper also said events like this allow these organizations to do their work more effectively.
