REPORTING · 7th July 2011
Walter McFarlane
Following the parade on July 1st, Canada was the annual stage show. Kicking it off were Mayor Joanne Monaghan, Member of Parliament Nathan Cullen and Member of Legislative Assembly, Robin Austin.

“Happy Wet Canada Day. You know that all of you are Canadians, are Kitimatians and we are not deterred by anything because we love our country, we love a parade, we love a stage show,” said Monaghan.

“This is a day in which we celebrate from coast to coast to coast, how grateful and honoured we are, how fortunate we are to live in a place called Canada, rain or shine,” said Cullen. He commented on the multicultural food fair and wished everyone a happy Canada Day.

Austin commented on the new citizens who were sworn in at the Citizenship Ceremony at Roy Wilcox Elementary School which took place in mid June and he wished everyone, especially the new people, a happy Canada Day.
