Kitimat City Council meets tonight and it looks like a long one. It’s their regular meeting for Monday, June 6th, at 7:30 pm at the Council Chambers.

There are 7 Presentations scheduled. The first is Fire Service Exemplary Medals. Following that, Ed Snatchko, Site Manager for Bechtel is making a Donation to the Recreation Department. There is a second pretension of awards from the Lifesaving Society. Festivals Kitimat is talking about their Canada Day Celebration. There is a presentation on trash receptacles and pooper scooper bylaws. A request for a grant from the Kitimat Humane Society. Finally, there is a presentation from Art Emerson on Milled asphalt.

There are three motions to Council, all made by Councillor Corrine Scott. The first is about Camping Facilities at Radley Park and the Lower Dyke Road. The second concerns handicapped parking stalls. The final is about the downtown, City Centre Sidewalks.

There are nine reports, four of which are requests for Council grants. There is a report on the pooper scooper bylaw. There are also three reports from the Recreation Department. The fee schedule for the 2011 / 2012 year, a request for a name change and a request for a logo. The final report is the Handi-dart operating agreement.

There is only one communication which concerns the Canada Day Celebration.
