District of Kitimat
The District of Kitimat announced today that Fire Chief John Klie will be retiring after 36 years of service with the Kitimat Fire Department.

Chief Klie's last day of work will be June 24, 2011 with his official retirement being effective on June 30, 2011.

Chief Klie began his career with the Kitimat Fire Department in 1975 as a probationary Fireman and progressed through the positions of Fire Captain and Deputy Fire Chief before becoming Fire Chief on June 20, 2005.

Chief Klie plans an active retirement and will assume the Fire Chief position on July 4th with the City of Terrace.

The District of Kitimat thanks Chief Klie for his 36 years of dedicated service and wishes him well in his future endeavors.
