REPORTING · 14th April 2011
Walter McFarlane
The Museum in the Classroom is on exhibit at the Kitimat Museum and Achieves. The exhibit runs throughout April until the 30th.

“It’s the Museum in the Classroom Art Workshop that we conduct. Eileen Hutson is the art instructor and she visits classrooms in Kitimat’s Elementary School and she delivers art instruction to the students and we’ve been working with them from January to April,” said Louis Avery, Museum Curator.

Hutson made a random selection of the artwork for the gallery. She was assisted in teaching by Cory Belmont and Terry Janovick. She taught techniques in water colour, oil pastel and chalk pastel. The styles included still life, landscape, abstract, birds, animals, figures, faces and perspective.

Avery thanked all the sponsors who bought the art supplies for the classes. All the schools participated as well as home schooled children.
