Kitimat City Council meets tonight at the Public Safety Building at 7:30 pm. There are 5 presentations, 2 reports and 3 communications. While there are no bylaws or motions on the agenda, that does not mean things will not get interesting.
The meeting begins with Sergeant Sumner with the Monthly policing report followed by Michele Perret and Kevin Brown will be reporting to Council on the Northern Gateway Pipeline Project. Terry Runions and Time Coleman of the First Baptist Church are presenting on the Serve 2011Youth Conference.
Frank Mauro returns to City Council going through the Freedom of Information act to find out how much severance the community paid to Municipal Manager Trafford Hall. Finally, Declan McDermott and Darryl Tucker are presenting to Council on My Mountain Co-op.
After approving Minutes, Council goes into reports. In addition to the Statement of Accounts, there is a report regarding the Development of a variance permit for Rio Tinto Alcan.
Under Communications, There is a letter from the Western Transportation Advisory Council regarding representation at an AGM, Tracey Hittel concerning a Harbourmaster position at MK Bay marina and Madeleine Robinson about the MESS Court Renovations Project.
