The District of Kitimat sits tonight for their Regular Council Meeting. The agenda is shorter then the last couple have been since the beginning of the year.
Frank Mauro takes the stand first with a presentation concerning a recreation subsidy for District of Kitimat Retirees. Following him is Allen Smith from the Kitimat Halibut Allocation Task Force.
After approving minutes, Council goes into bylaws and three bylaws are on the table tonight. The first is for Council remuneration, the second is the flat tax and the third, is the bylaw for the Advisory Commission for Persons with Disabilities.
Under Reports, there is report on a temporary Building permit for Rain Coast Crane, the tax apportionment decision, the Multicultural Dinner, Intervener status for the KLNG Hearing, membership dues for the NCLGA and the Curb Cut Rate increase.
Under Communications, there is a single communication from the city of Burnaby concerning British Columbia’s Heritage program. Following new business, Council goes in Camera.
