NEWS RELEASE · 18th February 2011
The Kitimat General Hospital Foundation received a Certificate of Incorporation from the B.C. Registrar of Companies, under the B.C. Society Act on February 14th, 2011.
Chairperson, Corinne Scott is pleased with the Valentine's gift received from the B.C. government as it will provide a means to raise funds for health care services in the Kitimat region.
Community members have voiced their concern with regards to the shortage of multi-level care beds, equipment, and staff requirements to ensure the ongoing success of the Kitimat General Hospital and Health Centre and this is a pro-active step in addressing those concerns.
The Foundation will have the ability to increase and improve the provision of medical care to those who live in the Kitimat area through receiving, investing and administering bequests, endowments, trusts and other financial investments to fund the activities of the Kitimat General Hospital and Health Centre, Delta King Lodge, Kiwanis Village and other current and future health care special-needs housing facilities.
The Foundation will be carried on without gain for its members, and any profits shall be used in promoting the purposes of the Society.
