Kitimat City Council meets tonight for their Regular Meeting of City Council at the Council Chambers in the Public Safety Building tonight, December 20th at 7:30 PM. This is their first Regular Meeting since November so the agenda is packed.

There are four presentations, the monthly policing report for November, a presentation for the Looking for Love Animal Society, The Kitimat Terrace and District Labour Council on the Federal Distribution of 32 million dollars to Eurocan and Mary Murphy with an update on Eurocan.

Despite all the notice of motions from Randy Halyk at the last several Council meetings, only two are on the Agenda. There are 8 reports scheduled. The first is for recognition of Joe Iannarelli. This is followed by a Fire Works Grant, FCM Community War memorial Programs, Municipal Campgrounds, a strategic plan for Measuring up Kitimat, Development permit application for 550 Mountain view square, Towns for tomorrow and the statement of accounts.

There are four communications. One is for a request for support form Kin Canada, the MK Bay Marina User Group requests assistance, UNBC has requested Mayor Joanne Monaghan to Co-Host a forum on Northern Gateway and a communication from NHA about the Decommissioning of Mills Memorial Hospital Helipad.

In addition, there is new business at Council tonight.
