The Annual Rotary Silent Auction is taking place this weekend. The action begins tonight at 5 with a viewing of the auction items and accepting ting bids in the storefront across from Big Jim’s Liquor Store. On Saturday, November 27th, the auction swings into high gear with open from 9:30 am until 5 pm. After 12 noon, items will be auctioned off every half hour.

“We are very delighted with the support we have from Kitimat and Terrace and even some out of town donations that are very exciting,” said Eleanor Kendell.

Kendal said there were some very high end items in the auction this year including a diamond necklace, Via Rail passes and a trip for two to Vancouver among many others.

The funds from the auction go towards many different projects in the community, such as RYLA, scholarships and the Peace Day Celebrations. Among last years projects were the purchase of eye equipment for the local optometrist and a vital monitor for the ambulance.
