The Ten Thousand Villages are once again visiting Kitimat for the Christmas Season. The store was open on the second floor of the mall on Thursday the 25th and concludes today.
“10,000 Villages. We do this every year [from] the Baptist Church,” said Trudy Vilness.
The Ten Thousand Villages is a Fair Trade Store is back again to grace the Kitimat with creations imported to earn money for the craftsmen and their families so that they can eat, go to school, become healthier and put roofs over their heads.
The art come from 3rd world countries where they are purchased from artists for a fair price. There were plenty of new items this year and the money spent goes for a good cause.
According to Vilness, people were lined up outside the door waiting for them to open this year.
