The Seventh Question was asked by Margaret Sanou. She wanted to know how the panel had prepared for public office.

Debbie Rauhanen said she bought Roberts Rules of Order.

Edwin Empinado said he studied the Municipality Act and Local Government Act as well as read Roberts Rules of Order. In addition, he has talked to the voters.

Michelle deLisser also read Roberts Rules of Order, the Local Government Act and spoke to people from the community. She also read the Council Minutes back to last January.

Linda Campbell said she has been talking to people for the last two years. She is approached by people all the time about what is going on in Council. She said there would still be a learning curve no matter who gets in as things change all the time. She congratulated the others for reading Roberts Rules as she has been keeping up with them as well as the George Cuff books.

Corinne Scott also read the Local Government Act, the Community Charter, Community Plan, 5 Year Plan and 2010 Budget. She has spoken to people and dropped George Cuff’s name as the two are friends.

Mary Murphy said she has been reading documents online and attending community events and meetings.
