Rosella Norman, Community Director for Kitimat for the BC Lung Association presented to Council on the Christmas Seal Campaign on Monday, November 1st.

“It’s Mission is to improve the lung heath for all British Columbians and through out each year we address issues such as asthma, tobacco related lung disease and quality of the air we breath. We play a significant role in lung health research, education, advocacy and promote national and international awareness of the issues. One of our most well know fundraisers to help achieve our goals is the Christmas Seal Campaign. It has been a tradition for over 100 years,” said Norman.

She encouraged the people of British Columbia to give generously to the campaign. She gave a letter to Mayor and Council and requested permission to fly the Christmas Seal Flag at the Kitimat Fire Department for the Month of December. She also asked for December to be declared BC Lung Month in Canada.

Monaghan signed the declaration on the spot.
