The Kitimat Filipino Club held their monthly dinner in the evening on November 8th. Amongst a few speeches was from the Rotary Club in regards to dental equipment which was being sent to the Philippians.
“About a year ago, Edwin and Doris came to Rotary with an idea, they could send some dental equipment sent to the Philippians because they had some dental equipment donated by Dr. Stevenson’s Office. They had updated their office and they had some equipment which was still in good working order,” said Linda Rocha.
The Rotarians have an organization called the Rotary World Help Network. This network gathers items at a warehouse in Vancouver and ships them to places all over the world where they are needed.
Through this organization, they are sending a 20’ container of dental supplies and other miscellaneous items to the City of Tarlac in the Philippines. If Kitimat does not manage to fill container, it will be filled with items from the warehouse.
Edwin Empinado thanked the Rotary Club of Kitimat on behalf of the Filipino community for helping them with this project.
