REPORTING · 1st November 2010
Walter McFarlane
Halloween might be over but it’s the first Monday of the month of November and you know what that means. That’s right. A Regular Meeting of City Council commences at 7:30 at the Public Safety Building.

Top of the list is Trish Parsons, Manager of the Kitimat Chamber of Commerce speaking on the Community Tourism Foundation Program and a presentation from Rosella Norman, Director of the BC Lung Association.

After approving minutes, Mayor Joanne Monaghan has a motion referring to new business items. In addition, Councillor Gerd Gottschling is also bringing forth a motion regarding the timing of budget deliberations.

Under reports, there is a report on the licence and Occupation of the Kitpark Weather Station. Then there is a report on Transit Schedules and capacity related to public schools.

There are three communications. A request for support form the Community Tourism Foundation Program, a request to meet with the Board of Education and a communication with recommendations for Major Industrial Property Taxation.

But that’s not all. There is a second meeting the people of Kitimat should be aware of. That’s right folks, the School Board will be meeting with parents at Kildala at 7:00 Pm to consult on issues around a K-6 reconfiguration.
