The Kitimat Youth Soccer Association held there soccer playoffs at the Bill Rich Soccer Fields on Saturday, September 11th.
“There are approximately 400 kids registered in KYSA. At the end of the year, the teams come together and play down for the final winning teams,” said Kathy Demelo. “It ranges from four years old which are the micros up to the senior kids which are 18 and older.”
The micros were spent the day having fun playing with the parents, practicing their skills and having a fun game. Playing in the tournaments included 4 senior teams, 2 Junior Girls teams, 2 Junior Boys Teams, 2 Super 8 girls teams, 3 Super 8 boys teams and the younger children who have 4 teams entered per age group.
In addition to the prizes was the Mark Teves Memorial Award. This award is in memory of a local soccer player who was respected. This award is given to boys in the super 8 division who show dedication to soccer, good sportsmanship and commitment to the sport. Receiving the Mark Teves Memorial Award this year were Ethan Morgan, Brayden Barbosa and Isaiah Gallant.
The Micros Complete their day of fun.

I feel very proud and honored that my son Brayden was one of the recipients of the Mark Teves Memorial Award. I would love a copy of this photo please :)
