Volunteer Opportunities Are Available In The Following Areas:
Volunteer Visitors – trained hospice palliative care visitors offer non-medical care and support to terminally ill people and their families.
Office – volunteers provide support at the office including reception coverage, help with the library and general office duties.
Special Events – opportunities exist to help with a variety of special events and fund- raisers such as Hike for Hospice, Celebrate a Life, Educational Seminars and more.
Rainbows Program – facilitated peer support group for children and teens suffering loss and grief through separation, divorce or death.
In Development – grief support group, self-care clinic
Volunteers are at the heart of what we do and without you we cannot continue to provide the services we offer. All volunteers are required to attend volunteer training. Training will be offered on September 11th, 18th and 25th,2010 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at 233 City Centre Mall. An interview is required prior to volunteering for Hospice.
