The 23rd annual Fish Derby is fast approaching. The fishing Derby will take place over Labour Day weekend in September.
The fishing takes place on September 4th and September 5th and there are several grand prizes. You do not have to fish to win a prize.
There are many returning events starting at noon including the kids zone, casting contest and the Fish Stock music festival with beer and root beer gardens.
Two new events for the Fish Derby include a Scavenger Hunt and a pancake breakfast hosted by the Looking for Love Animal Shelter from 9 am to 11:30 at City Centre Mall.
Tickets are on sale at The Chamber of Commerce and Home Hardware. In addition, there is still time left to vote for Kitimat for Worlds Greatest Fishing Town on the World Fishing Network.
