A special auction is beginning this weekend on Facebook for Payton Lee Mejaski, a 17 month old Kitimat girl who is in Vancouver Children's Hospital having undergone brain surgery.

"The fundraiser is starting this Sunday and it's going until the following Sunday. It's a weeklong fundraiser, Facebook based. I have an event going out of my digital photography fan page and what we are Doing: I've donated over $900 of my time to be auctioned off, photography services as well as different packages and items that people can bid on. I have people here from Terrace and a few from Kitimat donating items that can also be auctioned off," said Cara Devaney who is organizing the auction.

Mejaski was sick with a fever for 3 days. She was taken to the doctor and diagnosed with an elarged liver, swollen glands and a fever of 102. Saturday, she had a seizure, was taken to Kitimat General Hospital before being transferred Terrace and down to BC Children’s hospital where she underwent brain surgery because of internal bleeding around the brain. They still do not know what caused all of this.

They are asking for items in top condition for the auction and some of the items will have minimum bids. In addition, Devaney will be donating $20 from every portrait session to this cause. In addition, people can donate Save on More Points through Kitimat's Overwaitea.

The auction closes at 6:00 on Sunday, August 15th when the person who has placed the highest bid will win the item.
